hearing aid: thug style // ciarahas it been forever?
sure
feels like it.
i'm no longer writing in general or on random pieces of paper now that i'm in an english class. i feel so... left behind when in my english class only because most of the people in the class are english majors and i'm... obviously not. you know that feeling when everyone feels like they know everything, and the prof just nods in agreement to the words you've never heard of before until today.
i'm writing today only because i'm on my one-week reading break from school and i took the time to soak in a bubble bath while trying to prep for my english video project (say what!). i've never heard of doing a video project for an english class, have you?
since coming back from Idaho (with momma) over christmas 2009, i've started school, learnt more spanish, gone through several exams, had what felt like a very long january, been called a nazi, and got a job as a personal stylist for a boutique/chain (Tristan). a rather productive 2010 no?
back to the bubble bath. today is the first day in 2010 that i haven't had to do something - other than study. it was luxurious, luke-warm and an absolutely perfect hour spent reading "Venous Hum" by Suzette Mayr. now that i work 5 days a week, school 4 days a week, going out at night fortnightly seems like a chore.
yeah.on a side note:
Venous Hum is one confusing book. Freddy, is the love-child of two lesbians, who meows and eats cat food. one half of the two lesbians is sleeping with her bestfriend's husband. and her bestfriend has the "memory as holey as lace", and imagined a lot of their history together, but the lesbian doesn't want to spoil her bestfriend's idea of how great their friendship really is. not forgetting that this is also all revolving around the bestfriends trying to organise a 20-year school reunion and finding out that more than a dozen of their classmates of '85 have died. and in the background, there are dreams about the most mundane activites, attempts at letter writing, gargoyles, and griffins that haunt the main character.
like i said, one confusing book. still, you just want to know how everything plays into each other.
okay, now that that's over, the
good news is:
i've booked my flight to
Tampa, Florida (June 22-29, 2010) and i am over the hill with excitement.
i bought myself a Valentine's day gift! (: (: (: - adal and i decided to not celebrate v-day. anyhoo, my present-to-me needs to be
shortened, and
hammered a little, so i won't be getting it back for another week-ish. (i won't spill what it is until i get it back, you can guess all you want). all i can say is that it cost me
HALF(!!!) my pay check, and i'd been lusting for it for 5 weeks up till then when i found out that it was 50% off!
i've decided to do a
2-week road-trip across canada (highway 1) and back via the northern US states. date: TBC, companion(s): unknown. i might just do this trip by myself. - funny how fast we've grown up and comfortable we are with just being by ourselves.
i'm getting promoted at work. (:
my family in BC sent me a care package which included all the awesome asian sauces i can't get in Calgary, AND
HEADLIGHTS from my car! (: hahahhaa.
LOVE.
happy new year 2010.
happy 22nd birthday sandee (i know... don't kill me).
