the cold is coming. the frost of winter is near. yeah, you hear it on the streets. everyone's talking about how winter is so close we can almost feel it in the air - and it's only august. technically "winter" isn't going to be around for another 5 months, but in calgary, winter starts in november and maybe weeks before then too.

i got good news from dee today. she got a promotion at work (score!) and oh boy was i stoked for her. when i read the email, i was jumping up and down on the bed. and it wasn't even my bed. (: haha.

i have a massive amount of sales reports to go through tomorrow when i get into work.

this is something parents don't tell you. they don't tell you that growing up sucks and that you should stay a kid for as long as possible. or simply find a potion that keeps you young and don't tell anyone else about the potion. i say find what makes you young (i.e. happy), and hold onto it for as long as possible, because growing up sucks.

other than that, i scored me some student pricing high speed internet and digital cable tv (with close to a hundred channels of choice) for my new apartment.

i'm thinking of purchasing a bike. yes, a bike. the ones which involve you exercising and well... cycling. i'm thinking of cycling to school from my new apartment. it's about a 20 minutes cycle.

but. did you know that bikes here sell for a minimum $200! and that's for crappy bikes with low grade brakes and what not. i was telling dee that that's more than car gas for a month. gas prices here are on the rise, and they're now at $0.995/litre. not too bad when you think about how bad prices are in singapore. but travel to the states and they're freaking out about $4 a gallon. a gallon (imperial/US) = 4.54609 litres. <--- did you know that? i didn't, until now.

oh and did i tell you that i can't wait for school to start? yeah.

apparently, my girlfriends (notice the plural form) have decided - not together - to leave calgary or BC/vancouver. alberta is too conservative for them. when you come visit me, don't say i didn't warn you.

much love to all. you are on my mind - just like my daily dose of cardboard love.
