i went to the library today after making myself TWO new pairs of spectacles! yay. will be picking 'em up next week - finally i won't be such a blind bat anymore. it's terrible how often i sit in the cinema and i can't see all colours brilliant, all the objects clear. oh don't get me started on when i'm trying to flag the right bus home.
why two pairs of specs you ask? i bought one plastic, the other a metal frame. apparently, canada's winters don't support the usage of metal specs, lest you intend to get 2nd-hand frost bite on your nose and ears, all this via conduction of course.
back to why i'm writing this post. i picked up a library book - Necklace of Kisses by Francesca Lia Block - and HAD TO snap the first page.
'they had been explosions...' nice.
we read about kisses like these, and leave the rest to our awesome imagination and pray that we have kisses like those someday. and even though it's just reading, the authors leaves us with hot flashes, flustered and wondering who turned down the airconditioning. which might i add, would also explain why we are disappointed by the real thing.
in REAL life, the kissee or kisser is either:
- A: a dead fish,
B: has bad breath,
and/or
C: has no control over the dams in his or her mouth.
oh yesss, this book definitely belongs in the fiction/novel category.
AND. i bought a new dress. just to make me happy. (: it worked, for a while... --- how could i not expect the thoughts that followed soon after the purchase? "how in the world am i gonna wear this dress in canada?!" oh yeah, i'm cutting my NETS card to prevent further purchases.
